Scarf for my Significant other.

Every year, I gift Mark something knitted, usually multiple things throughout the year – but definitely something for Christmas.

A few Christmases ago, I knitted this blue ombré ribbed scarf, complete with a cable running right through the middle. It was one of those projects that was simple enough to be relaxing, but had just enough details to keep things interesting.

I chose blue because, quite simply, it’s my favourite colour 💙. The ombré effect meant the colour gradually changed along the scarf, giving what could have been repetitive, a little more interest and making each section slightly different from the last.

The majority of the scarf is worked in ribbing, which gives it plenty of stretch and creates that lovely cosy texture you want from a winter scarf. Running through the centre is a cable, adding a little bit of detail without taking away from the simplicity of the overall design.

I used DK yarn with 4mm needles for this project. I can’t remember the exact yarn I used – one of the downsides of looking back at projects.
