I finished this lovely set of crocheted carnations in shades of yellow, orange and red, made as a birthday gift for someone. There’s something lovely about gifting handmade flowers – they last forever and carry a little piece of the makers time, care and creativity.
Each carnation is crocheted in the round, building up to those ruffled layers that carnations are known for. The flower was bunched into a crocheted green bulb, and then attached to a wooden dowel, wrapped with green flower tape for a neat, natural looking finish. The result is a colourful bunch of flowers that won’t wilt, need watering or lose their vibrancy over time.
The combination of yellow, orange and red makes this bouquet especially cheerful, and brighten up someone’s day.
